Question #1:
How do medical residents get by with 80+ hr work/week?
I'm considering getting into medical school, and I read a lot of articles about residency, most of them say that residents work around 80 hrs /week on average. And that some have 30 hr shifts where they wouldn't be getting any sleep or rest. Um...this is scaring me. And you do this for 3 - 7 yrs???How do residents deal with this? Do they live on caffeine? Do they feel exhausted all the time? And do they ever get any vacations?
Question #2:
Is suicide the only way out?
Ok if you saw my previous question, you would know that i have major mother issues, and i also have brother\cousin issues.. its like my older sister was the closest one to me and shes studying out of the country and my brother is leaving soon, but he never listens to everything i say, and its like my mother is always on his side because he's leaving and stuff, she barley remembers she has me, and about my cousin, ugh shes super close to my sister, in summer she sleeps over for the whole vacation, and the thing is i feel like my cousin is taking my sister away from me, its like my sister is the closest thing and i cant spend time with her at all! she always takes my stuff and uses them, she always uses the computer for like 10 hours and every time i ask if i could use it she says no and she says i'll only give it to you if you give me your phone! i mean her parents took her phone away, and obviously for a reason! i cant just give her mine, so we had this big fight and i didn't talk to her since... shes out with her family now and shes coming back soon, what should i do ? and its bad enough that my mother hits my sometimes and uses violence... my life is a total miss, the only one i can talk to is my dad, whose never home!i don't mean i will commit suicide -_- < for those who thought i will...

What do you hate most about New York City?
I live in NYC( Queens), and I brutally hate it.- The trains smell like urine with sewers right between the tracks.
- Rats crawling everywhere and no one giving a crap. I hate how the MTA wastes millions of the tax money.
- I hate how the crime in NYC makes it dangerous for myself to go out at night.
- I hate how the homeless on the streets are lying around everywhere as if they are poor decors.
- I hate how the education system is so behind from the rest of the world( I know, I went to High School here).
I commute to Downtown Manhattan everyday and everyday I see tourist. If they see the reality of my life, perhaps they would reconsider as well. And the list continues... my question is, what do you hate most about New York?
For those who claims they love it, ask yourself a few questions.
1) Have you been out of the US(besides to Third World countries and Canada)?
2) Have you been here on vacation here( vacation is meant to be fun btw)?
3) Did you come from a poor background?

Where do Muslims go on vacation?
Surely Hawaii is out too many beautiful woman wearing bikinis... And skiing in the Alps is way out falling over and revealing yourself through pointless exploits is haram. Would Pakistan seem more appealing? As a fully Muslim country this should really appeal to them right? No? I can't imagine why not... Perhaps Afghanistan? Or Saudi Arabia! I hear they are beautiful this time of year the desert sand has a nice brown hue to it you can just lay back and enjoy the sunlight through your veil but keep an eye out for those pesky gang rapists and sharia law addicts they can ruin your vacation if given half a chance. Also what do Muslims do on vacation? Surely going to a theme park is out too many people eating until they puke and spending their money of wasteful toys this is way to haram. Maybe playing tennis on top of the Burj Al Arab? Oh tennis is haram too? I imagine it wouldn't be easy to hit the ball either wearing those heavy burqas... Perhaps they could visit a cactus plantation! That seems like fun and there's nothing haram about that right? Of their spines are phallic shaped? Yes I suppose that is very haram of them... Or how about praying the day away? You could just live in a mosque and pray for weeks and weeks without stopping that sounds like great fun! :D
Muslim vacations sound way better than non-muslim vacations right? ^_^
Lalalala that is so haram of you! Showing your fine self off at the beach like that... You better start praying girl or you aint getting into Muslim heaven.
@Cypher the Muslims were the ones who stole it in the first place. History.
@Muslimah Would they care if we were having a major flood? Nope. They'd be praying we'd all drown.

Another week, another vacation on the taxpayers money.Question #12:
what could this mean?
Alright so here's the story.Me, my sister, and my two friends went camping. We got there Saturday, and we left yesterday. Anyway, we were staying in tents, and right across from us, this really cute guy was staying in a cabin. We never really found out he was so cute until Monday night. Well I could always sense he was staring at us and stuff. And when we walked by he waved at us once. But Monday night he came up to us and started talking. He was with other people but he wanted to be with us. We stayed with him until about 12 at night. The next morning we asked him if he wanted to go swimming, and he said yes. About 30 minutes later he told us that he had to make a phone call. My friend and I saw him making a call about the same time the other day. We asked his brother who he usually likes to call and he said his girlfriend. He were all pretty shocked lol, & disappointed I have to say, even though we just met the guy. (he lives really far away and was vacationing in the same state I live in). So after that we got out of the water pretty sad and upset. But later on he came up to us and started talking and asked if we wanted to go swimming with him. We stayed in the hot tub and the pool with him and his friend for hours. He was so nice and funny. He has the best accent ever ha ha. He said he really did want to hang out with us, and he was the one that came up to us 1st. But when me and my sister left he really didn't say bye. He just like sat there lol. I don't know if he was sad or what. When I asked this question another time I got an answer that said because he didn't say bye he pretty much hates me. But if he really didn't like us then why would he ask us to hang out. But his friend said bye. I was just wondering if you guys could maybe tell me why he didn't say bye... I don't know I can't understand it. And I also want to know if he could like us... or was he just being friendly by coming up to us. Do you think he could have been interested? By the way, he camps at the same time and place every summer so we will be seeing him next year. Thanks. :)

Question #17:
Potty training rebel and regression?
My daughter is 2 years & 5 months old. She is very bright and understanding of concepts. She sat on the potty variously before one years old to "introduce" her to it. She's never been afraid and has used both the big potty & little potty many multiple times. At one I began putting her on the potty when she woke up, before bath time, and before bed. This became the schedule and in no time she picked it up & knew exactly what to do. Everything was fine and she progressed steadily forwards in the year of 1-2.Turning two was a totally huge turning point in her life, it was right on point that she was using a few sentances and within maybe two months she was speaking in complete sentances and almost fully potty trained during the day. Almost potty trained really means she was just about there. She was wearing big girl panties and we could go out in them, and she could take naps in them. She told me when she had to go potty and held it until we got there. The one and only problem was that at school she acted untrained. She was a very rough one year old so I thought maybe she had a terrible one instead of terrible twos because her behavior was improving every day and on top of that communication was getting easier too.
We went on a two week vacation the first two weeks of August so i brought her big girl panties and the half a bag of her pull ups that was left hoping to be done with them for good (besides night time just yet). Like I said she did a great job with me and a horrible job at school. I was thinking that now in two weeks since I would have her all day every day uninterrupted this would be the perfect opportunity to get it done once and for all.
Instead, she regressed completely back to newborn stage, meaning if she even had to pee two drips then she let it go right then, with no effort to do anything about it. I know my little girl is very stobborn and strong-willed, but what is the reason for this. I've read about it and what I've turned up is only what I already knew- that kids make a big deal of changes and that if it's not working to just "take a break" . I am not satisfied with this and I have to admit it has most definately become a power struggle! I know she knows what to do and has done such a great job all along, which makes it very hard to accept this disgusting stage. I have fought her and forced her and smacked her and yelled at her because it is simply unacceptable to stand in front of me and pee, to pee on the floor a few inches away from the potty without making the slightest effort to get there, to lie about not having to go, to not go on the potty and then pee directly after getting off, and the list goes on and all of the above applies for poop as well! She is not phased by cleaning up the mess (rather she likes to), she doesn't care if she's in big girl panties or pull ups, negative nor positive incentives influence her, she is just stuck on no longer going potty, ever! I'm sad at how common and acceptable this is, and I know if I give her a break she will never decide to go! She HAD to be pushed by me all along, and that is what got her so far to begin with. & She HAD it.
I have to know what to do about this and knowing the background story I am hoping for someone with experience who can personalize this answer just for me. Thanks for any and all help though. I'm sure if you've been there you can definately understand the frustration.
Question #18:
I feel like a bad Uncle and babysitter....?
I took my niece to the park(she asked to go). She was playing and I got distracted and looked away for like 3 seconds and she fell. She has a cute on her forehead that she had to get stitched up(took her to the ER) and a few other scrapes, cuts and bruises. I know kids fall and get hurt but had I been paying attention, full attention,I could've caught her(I was right next to her, literally). I feel really bad and I don't know what I'm going to tell her Mom(my sister). How can I make my niece feel better(she's spending a week with me and this is only the second day)? And should I call her Mom on vacation and tell her or just wait until she comes back?
Question #19:
My ex-husband hid his income?
Our divorce was finalized in Oct 2008. My ex-husband pays just a bare minimum 20% of his net income, as stipulated in the state of Illinois (we have one boy), and does NOT pay for anything else. I carry my son's insurance, pay for extra curriculum, child care expenses, summer camp costs, medical expenses, living expenses, EVERYTHING.I did this because I KNEW my ex would try NOT to pay for these and I did not want to have a life where I need to collect receipts everyday and need to deal with him on a regular basis, yet resulting in many cases aggravation because he would not pay anyway (I am very sure of this, he is a chronically liar as determined by his counselor and is very irresponsible).
However, we did agree that child support amount would increase as his income changes (it would still be 20%, but we will revise each year according to his new salary), and also I am entitled to his bonus payment as well.
He says he has 'no money' every time we speak, yet he recently took a very expensive vacation with his new girlfriend and her kids. So I asked him for his pay stub. He gave it to me, but he purposely copied only one section and hid the rest. So this raised my suspicion. I took out his pay stub from June and calculated the "gap" between YTD gross income today based solely on his salary, and there, about $5,000 is missing, which must be the bonus this summer.
I emailed him regarding this issue, and of course he is 'scared' to death that I would take him to court, now he says "I completely forgot that you have a share of this, I will cut a check today!” Frankly, given rates have been so low anyway, and he got his bonus this summer, not that long ago, I do not really care for 'interest', and rather NOT fight over a small payment.
HOWEVER, I am very upset that he tried to hide his income when I pay for EVERYTHING and does everything for my child. I do not want him to think all what he needs to do is to pretend that he has forgotten about his 'income' or 'bonus' and only if I happen to find out about it, he would pay - so I want to tell him that he needs to make the missing payment PLUS interest or penalty.
What is the typical interest or penalty amount in missing child support payments?
